Eiderdown - a true nautical treasure

It can do what no other down can do anywhere near as well: In winter, eiderdown provides enormous warmth due to its very high insulation performance - in summer, the small sleeves of the down cling together due to the increased moisture, thus reducing the volume - and therefore also the thermal performance. It is above all the sensitive adaptation to your environment that makes eiderdown so special. 

Eider down is obtained in an ecologically sustainable and absolutely trouble-free way. In its native Iceland, the abandoned nests of the protected eider ducks are collected by hand and then carefully processed. This is also the reason for its value. It is also said to have a particularly long lifespan which, with the right care, is 3-4 times longer than other high-quality down.

Depending on the level of support, between 80g and 220g of this precious natural treasure can be found in the outer chamber of the three-chamber pillow. The pillow is encased in a very fine, silver-colored 100% cotton batiste from Christian Fischbacher.

Please note that eiderdown is naturally a medium brown color. Cotton batiste in a light silver-grey was therefore chosen for the upholstery fabric.
