Eiderdown - a true nautical treasure

It can do what no other down can do anywhere near as well: In winter, eiderdown provides enormous warmth due to its very high insulation performance - in summer, the small sleeves of the down cling together due to the increased moisture, thus reducing the volume - and therefore also the thermal performance. It is above all the sensitive adaptation to your environment that makes eiderdown so special. 

Eider down is obtained in an ecologically sustainable and absolutely trouble-free way. In its native Iceland, the abandoned nests of the protected eider ducks are collected by hand and then carefully processed. This is also the reason for its value. It is also said to have a particularly long lifespan which, with the right care, is 3-4 times longer than other high-quality down.

The inner chamber of the pillow contains a core of feathers that provides the right level of support comfort. Please select the desired support comfort that suits your usual sleeping position. Soft for stomach sleepers, medium for back sleepers or firm for side sleepers.

The cushion is covered in an elegant 100% silk batiste with an interwoven paisley from Christian Fischbacher. The cushion can also be made with an elegant UNI silk cover. Please make a note of this in the comments field at the end of the ordering process.

*No live plucking. From Masuria, from the oat goose. These live on straw for the last 3 - 4 weeks and are fed with oats. This produces the best, large-flake down quality, which is processed under the strictest quality controls.
